Community OUTREACHES and Partners

We believe that creating a better world starts at the local level.

We strive to put the Word of God into action through servant evangelism.

Our members are givers of time, talent, and resource, who volunteer actively in our community partnership outreaches.

Every first sunday of the month directly after service. A pot-luck style meal that is open to the community. Bring a dish to share, or just bring yourself! Drop off your dish to the volunteers in the Connect Kitchen before service on Sundays between 9:15-9:45 AM.

Every week Panera’s Bread donates a days worth of bread for us to package and give away free.

Bread is available Monday thru Friday from 10 a.m. til 2 p.m.

Through the Day-End Dough-Nation program, unsold bakery products are packaged at the end of each day and donated to Good Ground Family Church.  In recent years, Panera Bread bakery-cafes collectively donated a retail value of more than 50 million dollars worth of bread and baked goods to charitable organizations helping to address the need for food in our local communities.

The Salvation Army offers an open food pantry for the residents of Albany County who qualify.

Every Tuesday and Thursday from 10 am until 2 pm, the Salvation Army hold its Food Pantry at Good Ground Family Church.

In order to qualify you must bring with you one the following:

The Cohoes Connect Center for Youth is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization and is currently under its final phase of construction. The Connect Center is set to be an urban youth center that is both a community resource center, and a safe and secure environment for the children, youth and families of the City of Cohoes and the Greater Capital Region.

We are committed to youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. We believe in making a positive impact in the lives of children, youth and families through:

  • Mentoring
  • Tutoring and educational resources
  • Vocational & life skill development
  • After-school programs
  • Nutrition, exercise and healthy food choice education

As a “Destination Center” and a community outreach organization, we desire to remember the youth and give them hope for their future by focusing on education, community enrichment & cultural empowerment. The responsibility to reach out and provide guidance, support and direction to the youth and families of our community falls on us particularly during this time of social and economic need.
